EASTER BAGS

Happy Easter to you all.

I thought I would show you some of the bags I made using 12'x12' paper.A lady in a club I go to (Stitch a Greeting) found this in a magazine, and very kindly showed everyone how to make it.  I thought it was lovely and decided to go and make some for Easter.

Here are some I have made..........

You will see in the last picture, there are two boxes, which I made and put football cards and little eggs into, thanks for looking in........bye xxx

Floral Birthday

While on holiday recently, I stitched a few patterns so that I had them ready to make into cards once I got home.
I like this pattern, I think it's pretty and delicate looking. I added very pale pink beads and pick flowers, and stitched the butterfly using a multi coloured thread.  Now I had to decided how I wanted this to look as a card.

I embossed some green card and mounted it onto some patterned mirror card, I then mounted the stitched pattern onto the same patterned mirror card.  I attached the green card to my card blank (A5 size) at an angle and then mounted the stitched pattern in the opposite direction. This is quite a good way of matting and layering if you are not very good at keeping your lines straight or even.
I didn't think this needed any other picture, so I used a Kanban sentiment topper, which I coloured with my promarkers.
Hope you like it. Take care x

Special Sister-in-Law

I made this card for my sister-in-law's birthday. You will have seen the same stitched pattern on another card in a previous blog, titled 'Butterflies Galore'.  I think it's a pretty pattern and may well use it again.

I had hoped my sister-in-law would like it, unfortunately she did not receive it. I posted it on a Thursday so it would arrive in time for her birthday the following Monday.....I think in future I may have to hand deliver my cards.

I think I may have to make some cards without any stitched patterns on them........but I do enjoy punching out the pattern and then sewing it.  I blame my friend Janice, who introduced me to stitching cards, however, it is relaxing to do, so thank you Janice.

Take care x

Cycle Stitch

I thought I would stitch a picture. I found this pattern on - Form-a-lines, I downloaded a few patterns from this site.  Once I had finished stitching the picture,  I had a look through my card stock, looking for some backing paper to mount the picture on (at this stage the stitched picture was white).

While looking for the backing paper I found this topper from Hunkydory, I couldn't believe how nearly the same the pictures were.  So I decided to colour in the back ground of my stitched picture in green, so it would blend with the topper and backing card (from Hunkydory).

As the backing card has gold embossing at the top and bottom, and gold around the topper, I decided not to add any other embellishments, like ribbon etc.....

Have a good weekend, keep warm........it's going to be a cold one. xx

Oriental

Well the spring card yesterday, didn't help bring spring along. As I am writing this, it has gone dark outside, it's raining and I can hear thunder......to think we have April showers to get through yet!

So I thought I would try and brighten the day with a bright orange coloured card. Again, I stitch the pattern while on holiday but when I came to make it into a card, I could not find a topper that would match/blend.  I looked though my peel offs and thought I would use this kimono peel off. So I coloured it in orange using my pro markers to match the stitch pattern and the flowers in blue to match the flowers I had sewn on the card.  To finish it off I used orange ribbon and a fan peel off, which again I coloured in orange.

I mounted the card onto to Rainbow mirror card, which reflects the orange colour of the ribbon.

Lets hope the weather brightens up, bye for now.

Springtime...maybe?

Hi All, I know it's not very spring like (I think Spring has forgotten to wake up) but I think this card has a spring look about it...
I used the Spellbinders 'Splendid Circles' which had little holes on the inner section of the die, I used the holes to stitch the thread to make the pattern.

I then cut the flower from Spellbinders 'Jewel Flowers and Flourishes' this again has little holes around the centre, which I stitched using the same thread as the outer circle.

The white flowers under the circle are from Memory Box.....only I can't remember what they were called.....oops....Janice, a craft friend of mine brought them along and I cut a few out.  They are really pretty, might have to save up some pennies and get some.  The butterfly was a peel off, which I have had for a very long time, and have only just started using them.

Hope you like the card, stay warm xx

Best Friends

Well here we are, another stitched card.....I have a few more to stitched patterns to make into cards, hope your not getting too bored.

I had to add the butterflies to hide the sticky tape which you could see, I was going to add flowers but I thought the butterflies went ok....

I guess you could pretend the stitched pattern was the flight pattern, that the butterfly left behind?

Have another card reading to show tomorrow....see you then, bye x

Birthday Flowers

Here is another pattern, which I stitched while on holiday.  When I got back I found this topper and thought the flower on the ladies dress and sentiment was very similar to the flower beads I stitched onto the pattern, what do you think?

It is also my brothers birthday today, this is the card I sent him......

Thanks for looking in....take care x

Butterflies Galore.....

Well, here I am back in cold cold Kent but happy to be back in my craft room to make the stitched patterns I did on holiday, into cards.  And so here is my first one:-

This is an A5 size card.  I'm sorry but I can't remember where I got this stitch pattern from (you may see some more cards with this pattern as I do like it).  I stitched the pattern in purple cotton and used multi colour cotton for the four butterflies, I then added little beads for more texture.

The large topper butterfly is from KanBan Crafts and the pink backing card is either Hunky-dory crafts or Kan Ban, I then used some wavy peel offs to edge the card.

Look out for more stitch cards.............

I have been reading other crafters blogs, and one that I follow every day is Christine Emberson's blog which is:- hope-chances.blogspot.com and reading today, I saw that I have won the draw for some dies, I was so happy, still can't believe I've won. Once I have them I will up load the pictures.

I hear there is lots of snow and it is freezing cold, hope our flight tonight is on time, can't wait to get home and start crafting......bye for now.x
